Boat Storage Guidelines

The Harbor Master and Port Captain (H/PC) have the authority to control boats and boat storage at the HYC. The rules listed below do not apply to guest boats during regattas.

1. Only boats with approved dock spaces or assigned storage areas may be left on HYC property. The Harbor Master will control dock spaces and the Port Captain will control beach-front, mast-up, dinghy and trailer storage areas.

2. No boat may be left anywhere on HYC property without the permission of the Harbor Master or Port Captain. No member of the HYC other than the H/PC has the authority to give permission for any boat to be left on HYC property for any reason barring the saving of a life. This includes but is not limited to dock spaces, beach front, mast-up, dinghy and trailer storage areas, day docks, and all normal car parking areas.

3. Permission must be received, all docking or storage fees paid and proof of insurance and registration provided to the Harbor Master or Port Captain, as appropriate, before the boat arrives at HYC. This includes those boats being docked, stored or day sailed.

4. No boat may be left overnight on the docks at the boat ramp (Dick’s Point) until permanent boat slips are completed. The side of these docks nearest the boat ramp is for launching and retrieving of boats only.

Thank you for your cooperation.
